Rings
Rings are a commonplace piece of jewellery employed by most of the intelligent or at least sapient species. Rings tend to be wrought, forged or crafted from either precious or semi-precious materials, such as silver or gold. Seldom rings are enchanted, most often for the benefit of the wearer, but sometimes to cause harm, as well.
Common rings
Magical effects are nice - more-so if they are beneficial - make no mistake, but sometimes beauty carries its own merit. Some societies have made it a practice to imply marital relations through the use of rings in specific fingers; for others a ring carries perhaps a more mundane or indeed a deeply personal meaning.

Magical rings
Enchanted rings are crafted to aid the wearer, and cursed rings to hinder greedy grave robbers or trespassers. Some kinds of rings are more commonplace than others, and some rings have passed from history to legend.
Beneficial rings
Also known as (inaccurately and colloquially, especially in mercenary context) magical rings, or blessed rings.
- Shield Ring: protects the wearer from melee damage by a small amount.
Harmful rings
Not all harmful rings are cursed rings, but all cursed rings are harmful rings. Cursed rings, like most other cursed objects, cannot be removed once put on. Only after a healer or a priest uncurses an item can it be safely removed.
- Magnetic Ring: causes the wearer to be easier to hit with ferromagnetic weapons. A cursed ring.
- Ring of Illness: stifles the wearer's natural health regeneration outside of rest.
