Paralysis

Paralysis is a biological phenomenon that occurs as the result of a magical spell or an overload in the areas of brain that control pain (in layperson's terms this means that several impulses of severe pain in a rapid succession, under the timespan of three seconds, can cause a paralyzation). A being that has been paralyzed can be still affected further by external sources, unlike beings trapped in stasis.
Powerful spells that cure mental effects can reverse the effects of this status, priestly ritual Unshackle Mind serving as a perfect example.
