August 23 2006 - Save Rarely
Counterintuitively, frequent saving - a necessity everywhere else - is a bad idea on a MediaWiki: As all versions are archived, the webspace used increases substantially every time a new version is saved.
To avoid loss of work, it is advised that you make longer edits in a text editor like Notepad or MS Word and save the file. If you wish to see how the published article looks, use the "Preview" button rather than the "Save" one; only use the Save option if you reasonably believe that no further edits are required at this time.
