Help:Things to avoid

There are several things that are technically possible to do, but should be avoided.
Links within Titles
A link within a title shows up like that. Big, glaring in blue or red. It distracts from the page design, and on top of it, makes it look inconsistent. Some section titles are links, some not - should the others be links?
External Images
It is possible to include an external image just by writing the URL.
http://www.google.com/intl/en/images/logo.gif
This is done without any formatting, text flow and scaling. A standard wiki image, however, is scaled to a certain thumbnail size, surrounded in a framed box with a caption, and added to the side of the article, with the text flowing around it.
