Mairwen

Mairwen was the commander of Fort Dranlon, and also a mage. At first she was stationed to the fort in 816 IE, as a "fort mage" during the First Slith War. She was the fort's only mage, and her ability to create magic barriers literally held the fort together in the face of constant slith raids. In 817 IE, her superior officers were killed in an attack, and Mairwen became the fort's commander. Mairwen proved herself to be a skilled tactician, and she was allowed to remain as the commander for almost forty years. During her tenure, she has overseen the defenses of the fort during several fierce conflicts in which it was an important defensive bulwark, notably the Empire-Avernum War and the Second Slith War.
