Fort Dranlon was one of the most prominent forts in the First Slith War and Second Slith War. Located at the northwestern corner of the Eastern Gallery, it was the closest human settlement to the slithzerikai lands (along with Fort Emerald). During the Empire-Avernum War, it was engaged in near-constant fighting with the Empire outpost known as the Tower of Elderan.

During the later years of the First Slith War the fort was held together almost single-handedly by Mairwen, who used magic barriers to plug the holes in the walls created by slith fireballs. Magic barriers were also employed during the Empire-Avernum War.
