Piercing Crystals are magical crystals that, when thrown, can dispel weaker magic barriers. These crystals cannot, however, dispel strong magic barriers or force barriers. They were not common or well understood until sometime into the Empire-Avernum War, when, through contact with the Olgai Tribe, much more was learned about crystallomancy as a whole by both the Kingdom of Avernum and the Empire.
