Emperor Hawthorne I was, after Viceroy I 500 years earlier, the first emperor whose line originated on Pralgad rather than Aizo - running against the unwritten rule of Aizoan Emperors. It was in his reign that the caves were discovered, although he did not put them to their eventual purpose as a prison.
