Stewart I reigned as emperor from 672 to 722, until his death. He was the last emperor to come from an Aizoan line, and when he died, the crown passed to a Pralgadian general, Radzac Hawthorne. Stewart I is known for continuing and advancing the Empire's highly restrictive policy on magic; he closed numerous Schools of Magery, among them the famous academy of Skylark Vale. In addition, he moved the capital of the Empire from Imperius to Solaria due to the ever-present danger of flash floods and to restimulate the region's flagging economy.
