Mithral (also spelled mithril) is a very rare metal which can be used to craft the finest tools, weapons, and armor. It is incredibly hard, but not brittle, and it weighs less than any other metal except tin. Mithral is also noted for its use in making durable jewelry. It is mined in a few select locations in the Empire and Avernum. It is also reputed to have magical properties.
