Welcome, Hhhhh!

You're the only one whose name I don't recognize from Spiderweb... do you mind revealing who you are? :)

Hello then!

Several points:

User Messages

First, you replied in exactly the right way: User messages are sent to that user's page, so that they can be read earlier. If you reply on your own user page, I'll eventually see it, but if you reply on mine, I'll immediately get a message that I have new messages. ;)

By the way, messages should be signed so that it's clear from whom they come. You put in your signature by typing '~~~~'. In my case, this results in:

Starting new pages

This depends. If the page you want to start is linked to from another article (link colored in red, to show the target does not yet exist), you just need to click on that link and you'll go to the editing page.

If it does not yet exist anywhere, you'll have to type the title into the address bar at the top, in this way:

  • The result should be "index.php/Article"
  • Replace all spaces with '_' underlines, thus "Your_article"
  • The first word is always capitalized. The others are only if they are names. Thus: "Game_canon", but "Upper_Exile".
  • Leave out any articles, so no "The_Vahnatai_magic", but "Vahnatai_magic".

Note: Articles can be moved later, if you find the name wasn't that good.

Marking Stubs

The stub mark is a template, like the 'OOC' or 'Exile/Avernum' note. Templates are included by writing '{{template_name}}'.

So to mark a stub, add '{{stub}}' at the bottom.

Commenting on an article

You'll find sometimes there is an issue with an article that doesn't need to be looked at by any specific user, but should be read by anyone who has time. If you want to comment on such an issue, you do it on the article's talk page, by going to the article, and then clicking "discussion" at the top of the page. As always, don't forget to sign off with '~~~~'.

I hope this helped! :-)

If you need to know anything else, see the Help page or contact me again.

Another Welcome

Hi, Hhhhh. I would recommend taking a look at the official Spiderweb Software message boards. It's always great to meet another played of the Exile series. --- Drakey 14:25, 2 Sep 2005 (CEST)
