Hawthorne III was the third and last of his name to rule on the imperial throne. His daughter, Prazac I continued his line, but she did not carry the name.
Hawthorne III was crowned Emperor in 791 IE. He is most known for continuing and extending his predecessor's use of Exile as a prison, and banishing huge numbers of misfits and dissidents. He reigned until 817 when he was assassinated by a group of Avernite adventurers in the employ of Erika Redmark. His death precipitated the Empire-Avernum War.
