Imperial Standard is the language spoken by the overwhelming majority of citizens of the Empire. A rude amalgamation of Ancient Aizoan and Native Pralgadian, Imperial Standard is generally referred to in linguistic circles as originating as a massive pidgin, before being codified and evolving into the more advanced tongue spoken today. After the Aizoan Empire settled Pralgad, the meshing of cultures necessitated a common language, which developed somewhat naturally and somewhat artificially, with the help of the Empire's Uniformity Edict.
