Template talk:Person

I don't think this is a useful template. People, unlike cities, tend to move around a lot, so the location fields aren't very relevant to Persons entries, which are more or less biographical. While titles and jobs are relevant for some people, they are also information that is
- generally easily found in the first line of the entry, and
- not very useful for grouping and comparison purposes, unlike provinces and allegiances for cities
In short, this template takes up a relatively large amount of page space to convey information that is not usually useful. --- Slarty 21:19, 14 December 2006 (PST)
- Sorry about jumping the gun. When I saw the city template and how it made the page look, I had to try it out on a person. I said this in the Talk:Solberg, "I just figured it would be, if not usefull, make the pages more sophisticated." Arch-Mage Solberg 08:26, 15 December 2006 (PST)
- Unless anyone can suggest a reason to use this template (or an improved version), I suggest we stop doing so. --- Slarty 08:20, 22 December 2006 (PST)
- Just get rid of it then. It's just like any of the others. Totally useless! The only thing you had against it before was the fact that people move around or die and the thing would have to be updated every so often. Arch-Mage Solberg 10:12, 22 December 2006 (PST)
- Then please deprecate it appropriately: Remove it from the pages where it is being used, then I'll delete it. One thing you should not do is blank the page, because that just makes an additional version. Arancaytar | Send Reply! --- That is not dead which can eternal lie... 06:03, 23 December 2006 (PST)
- First, I'd like to appologize for getting a little miffed. I understand what y'all are trying to do here and I like to put forth my info as much as possible. The problem is...that my info is sometimes not in sync with game canon. I want to appologize to both Slarty an Arancaytar.
- Second, I have deleted the person template from Solberg's page. I believe that was the only one with the template, but I will continue to look!Arch-Mage Solberg 18:00, 23 December 2006 (PST)
