Wine

In Avernum, wine is made from tangy mushrooms (or, more rarely, lichens) instead of grapes. The mushrooms were specially engineered by the Tower of Magi for this purpose. Almaria is famous for its mushroom wines. The Surface Explorers noted that after mushroom wine, even mediocre wines made on the Surface were better then Avernite wine.

Gremlins are known for their trademark variety, gremlin wine, which has wild and unpredictable effects on the imbiber.
