The surface of Ermarian is ruled by the Empire, with the exception of Provincial Avernum. Only recently, since the discovery of Exile in 741 IE, has a distinction been made between Ermarian and the surface. There are four known continents on the surface: Aizo, Pralgad, Vantanas, and Valorim.
