Blackchasm Outpost is one of three diplomatic outposts set up by the Empire in Avernum, south of New Harston. It also contains a magical portal in its lower region, where diplomats and soldiers can come from the surface to Exile. Due to its location at the Northern Frontier, it is the most remote of the three Empire settlements, the other two being in the Great Cave and the Eastern Gallery.
