Smithing

Smithing is the craft of producing usable items from raw materials. In the earliest days of Kingdom of Avernum's existence, the smiths were forced to use stone to produce daggers, swords, spears and arrows for their soldiers. As the metal-workers in Fort Draco and Dharmon picked up the pace of metallurgy, the weapons soon improved to be crafted from bronze, low-quality iron and eventually even steel.

Notable Blacksmiths

• Boutell was a blacksmith in Fort Draco with legendary skills in his craft. He reforged the fabled Demonslayer upon the request of the famous Hawthorne's Assassins.
• Efram was a smith in Silvar who had a mighty sword on display, that he jokingly exhibited to his customers as the Demonslayer.
