Are wyrms in fact distinct from drakes, in E/A? A3 seems to use the terms "wyrm" and "drake" interchangeably to refer to the same creatures, and in earlier games "wyrm" is used to refer to any ancient drake or dragon. -- Slarty
- What about Dark Wyrms? Anyway, I'm not sure. If the word is really used interchangeably, maybe it's a misnomer? Otherwise, I suppose you could merge the sections and mention that Drakes are also called Wyrms... Arancaytar | Send Reply! --- That is not dead which can eternal lie... 02:34, 26 April 2006 (CDT)
- The only reference to Dark Wyrms I can find anywhere is that there is a creature type in E/A3 called "Dark Wyrm." This doesn't mean much -- it could simply be describing a venerable, evil drake, in much the same way that an "Evil High Priest" is still a human.
- Anyway, even if we thought they were different creatures, there is absolutely nothing to suggest that wyrms are different from drakes in any way. At least, I think there isn't. The bit on Wyrms in this article says that they can't breathe fire. Is this true of the "Dark Wyrms" in the games? I'm a little skeptical that this is really a wyrm feature, since there are various Wyrmkins in A4 who breathe fire, ice, etc. --- Slarty 10:25, 26 April 2006 (CDT)
- Uh, have you seen a Dark Wyrm in A3 or BoA? Not only do they have nothing to do with Drakes, I would hesitate even to call them lizards. They look more like a gigantic worm, with a hole for a snout. Reminds me of Lovecraft's Dhole.
- Your point about normal wyrms still stands, of course (although I'm wondering how two so similar names could be used for two so different concepts). Arancaytar | Send Reply! --- That is not dead which can eternal lie... 23:38, 26 April 2006 (CDT)
- I haven't seen them in A3/BoA, so that explains it. I'll make a new article for them and move the stuff from Lizards. As for the normal wyrm term, I think that's just a holdover from fantasy heritage. There's a great read on that here: European Dragon at Wikipedia --- Slarty 12:38, 27 April 2006 (CDT)

There are dark wyrms in A3. They look like giant white snakes with a mouth like a crocodile or alligator. They are very dangerous. The ones with the hole for a mouth is the E3 one where they are less dangerous but have a paralysing touch. They can breathe darkness twice each turn which adds up to about 200 damage each turn. Their breath does acid damage but doesn't cover you in acid and it enfeebles your PCs. They can be found in a ruined town in Footracer Province where there are lots of dead alien beasts and in the same mountains as Athron, Khoth and Sulfras. Joshie 00:44, 30 April 2006 (CDT)
