Smite, also called Giantslayer, is a magically enchanted weapon that is particularly damaging to giants. It was brought to Exile by the First Expedition. It eventually ended up in the Pit of the Drake, guarded jealously by the Chasm Drake, until Hawthorne's Assassins salvaged it. It was taken to Valorim during the Plagues and was briefly lost among the giants before being recovered by the Surface Explorers.
Accounts of Smite are curiously inconsistent --- it is sometimes described as a hammer, and sometimes as a pike or spear. It is possible that it is a weapon of unique make.
